I have a firm belief in the power of community service, and that has led me to regularly seek volunteer work to use my skills and passion to impact a larger community. I had a fulfilling experience while assisting in logistics for the Sahayta Square Walkathon, a fundraising event that was supported by Bimavale and focused on raising funds for meal donations.
I also regularly volunteer at the NGO Karma Foundation, teaching guitar fundamentals to 30+ children and adolescents. Building upon the tutoring efforts, I participated in a CAS project at Karma – we raised more than INR 21,000, which then funded more than 150 meals for people from underserved communities.
Last year, I also launched my own social initiative Dividendi, which is a financial literacy project based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Recognizing the need to impart financial knowledge to disadvantaged communities, the project aims to improve access to information about investments, specifically mutual funds. Through very simple instruction, easy-to-understand guidance, and advice, we hope to connect a large network of people, helping them make smart investments and manage their finances in a responsible and informed manner.
We intend to accomplish this by writing an accessible guide for beginners on investing and stock markets. In addition, we will hold engaging workshops regarding financial planning and the fundamentals of investing. In order to fund an investment program that will eventually be launched with mentorship and guided investments, we will also plan a fundraising effort. These funds will be employed in setting up a managed investment program that will provide local NGOs with sustainable financial returns and additional advantages for their communities.
